Carton emphasizes the perfect architectural form of the egg— a form that exists within nature, yet, a fragile entity. With technological proliferation, this form has been perfected through mechanical standardization.

Thinking about the egg drop test commonly done in elementary physics classes, it inspired me to conceive of interventions— whether structural or invisible— that challenged notions of durability for an entity mechanically altered towards optimization. As a near-white object, it posed a significant lighting challenge, especially against a seamless white backdrop. In this vein, the light becomes a structuring device, articulating the presence of architecture surrounding the frame.
